A Human trafficking ring has been uncovered in Sukkur, said police on Friday.

According to details, police on the basis of intelligence, conducted operation in Jhangrdo area of Sukkur, where three men involved in human trafficking arrested.

Police identified the traffickers as Abdul Sattar, Peeral and Razzaq.

The accused used to buy women from different parts of Punjab and sell them in Sindh. Police raided in Jhangro area where women were being offered for sale.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukkur Irfan Sammo said The recovered women will be handed over to their families. In Feb 2019, seven people were arrested on charges of human trafficking in Sakrand.

The suspects, which includes five men and two women, were arrested from Pir Zakari Colony. According to the police, the gang used to kidnap women and then smuggle them abroad.

The suspects fed the women pills to make them unconscious, said the police. A woman who was kidnapped from Lahore has been rescued too

In June 2019, The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested nine human traffickers including a woman during separate actions in various districts.

In operation headed by Deputy Director FIA Jamil Ahmad Khan Mayo and conducted in different districts the Authority arrested nine human traffickers including a woman and including Shafqat Bibi Shahid Sarfraz Ahmad Zeeshan Sajid Mazhar Iqbal Muhammad Shahbaz Muhammad Wazir Muhammad Rafique and Faizur Rehman.

The detainees were involved in looting the citizens in the name of sending them abroad for better employments there. Fake documents were recovered from their possession.
