Educational Institutions across the country to be opened from the first week of September.

According to sources, this was decided in the Inter-Provincial Ministers of Education Conference chaired by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood.

Sources added that situation of COVID 19 in the country will be reviewed before the opening of the educational institutions/

Final approval will be sought from National Command Operation Center NCOC tomorrow.

All education ministers agree to open educational institutions in first week of September.  Educational institutions are also allowed to conduct examinations with SOPs.

Earlier Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said the government was considering reopening of schools under the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as COVID-19 cases continue to spike up across the country.

The minister said suggestions had been sought from the seminaries (Madaris) and private institutions of all provinces.

Mahmood said a meeting had also been scheduled with the Ministry of Health in this regard, and that the decision would be taken in light of the NCOC data.
