The precautionary measures for the novel coronavirus are very simple and basic. You have to wear masks and practice social distancing, said Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar.

While speaking to media officials on Saturday, Asad Umar said, “You have to take care of yourselves.”

“Take precautions, listen to your doctors and stay healthy. If people don’t follow the instructions then it will be difficult to control the spread of the coronavirus.”

The cases in Pakistan were increasing but they have now been controlled to a certain extent, he said, adding that the difference is quite evident.

The federal minister thanked the country’s doctors, paramedical staff and health workers for working round the clock. “This is the perfect example of Pakistan at its best as everyone has been doing their part to fight the virus,” Asad Umar said.

There was a shortage of oxygen supplies at some hospitals and we have installed oxygen supply systems at some facilities, he said.

The capacity of beds has been increased by 189 at district hospitals in Islamabad. A 250-bed facility will be inaugurated next week, he shared.

On the other hand, Pakistan has confirmed 68 deaths in a single day by Coronavirus pandemic as the number of positive cases has jumped to 225,283. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 4,619.

Province-Wise Details

Sindh has become the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 90,721 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 80,297 in Punjab, 27,506 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10,717 in Balochistan, 13,292 in Islamabad, 1,536 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,214 in Azad Kashmir.

Furthermore, 1,844 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 1,459 in Sindh, 1,002 in KP, 122 in Balochistan, 130 in Islamabad, 28 in GB and 34 in Azad Kashmir.
