Ahead of Eid ul Adha 2020, vegetables prices in Lahore have been skyrocketed.

According to details, In Lahore, onion is being sold at Rs 37, tomato at Rs 80 and garlic at Rs 180.

Ginger is being sold at Rs 370, lemons at Rs 95, potatoes at Rs 75 and bitter gourd at Rs 40, while fenugreek (Methi) is being sold at Rs 90, eggplant at Rs 95 and cabbage at Rs 50 per kg.

Cauliflower is being sold at Rs 70 and capsicum at Rs 80 per kg. However, SOPs are also being ignored in the local markets.

None of the shopkeepers and buyers wore masks and no sanitizer was provided in the market.

On the other hand, buyers say that till Eid ul Adha 2020, tomatoes and onions will become more expensive, so they are buying now.

It may be recalled that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus, the cooperation of the masses is very important.

In his recent statement, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also warned that violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Eid-ul-Adha will not be tolerated.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar while ordering strict implementation of SOPs issued for Eid-ul-Azha, urged masses to ensure social distancing and implementation of precautionary measures.

Usman Buzdar added that one has to learn to live with coronavirus by taking precautionary measures as no one knows how long the pandemic will last.

Chief Minister Punjab also directed relevant departments and institutions to ensure strict implementation of the coronavirus guidelines and said that there is no room for negligence.
