Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa will leave for Saudi Arabia on an official here on Sunday (today).
During the visit, COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa will hold important meetings with Saudi Arabia’s top civil and military leadership, said sources.
Bilateral ties, regional security situation, Kashmir dispute, international issues and other matters will be discussed in the meetings, the sources added.
Sources further added that his visit seeks to calm diplomatic strains over Kashmir as financial support for Islamabad hangs in the balance.
Moreover, the two countries are traditionally close and Saudi Arabia in 2018 gave Pakistan a $3 billion loan and $3.2 billion oil credit facility to help its balance of payments crisis.
Earlier on August 13, Director-General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj. Gen. Babar Iftikhar had confirmed that the COAS will visit Saudi Arabia to discuss regional security and Kashmir dispute with the Saudi leadership.
