Eid-Al-Adha, the Muslim ritual of sacrificing animals, is being celebrated on August 01 (today) with full religious zeal amidst strict precautionary measures.

The day dawned with special Eid prayers in mosques for well-being of the Ummah and progress and prosperity.

In their separate messages on Eid-e-Qurban, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have urged the nation to strictly observe precautionary measures on the occasion.

They said this is a day of remembrance of the obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and the reverence of Hazrat Ismael (AS), who set an extraordinary example of sacrifice and selflessness.

Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message said the whole world is facing a critical situation right now due to coronavirus as the coronavirus pandemic has become a challenge for all humanity.

He said the government is utilizing its capabilities to deal with the deadly disease and the nation should also follow the precautionary measures in this regard.

President said one must not forget the deserving people. The president felicitated the entire Pakistani nation and the Islamic world on Eid-Al-Adha, and said that “surely this happy occasion will bring a lot of happiness and accomplishments in our life”.

He said Allah Almighty tested His chosen servants by putting them to various challenges.

“These great personalities have been fully successful in the tests, giving us a lesson that the key to success is to be steadfast in the face of trials and difficulties and to be ever ready to make any sacrifice” he said.
