Govt decides to remove lockdown in phases: Asad Umar

Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that the lockdown imposed due to coronavirus across the country has now been decided to be opened in phases.

The Federal Minister for Planning said in a media briefing after the coordination committee meeting that tourist spots would be opened from August 8, but educational institutions and wedding halls would be opened only on September 15.

Federal Minister Asad Umar said the government has taken an important decision to revive business, educational, tourism and recreational activities across the country.

The Corona epidemic has closed cinemas, theaters, amusement parks, museums and beauty parlors across the country which will be opened from August 10, 2020.

He said in a press conference that the ban on limiting working hours has also been lifted.

Asad Umar said that transporters have also been allowed to make bookings from September 15.

In a media briefing after the coordination committee meeting, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that sports activities would also be resumed but spectators would not be allowed to go on the field.

On the other hand, the NCOC has decided to intensify the public awareness campaign to curb the rise in pandemic.

It may be recalled that a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which representatives of all the four provinces participated.

The meeting also informed about the active cases of COVID-9 in the country, the well-being of the patients while decisions were also taken regarding opening of schools, marriage halls and entertainment venues in which it was decided to open lockdown in stages.
