The 1290th Urs celebrations of the great Sufi saint Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi began on Monday. Auqaf Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal inaugurated the celebrations and offered Fateha.

The urs is celebrated from Zilhaj 20 to 22.

Thousands of devotees from across the country visited the shrine, following the SOPs. Foolproof security arrangements had been made on the occasion.

Sanitizer gates have been installed at the entry points. Langar arrangements were also made for the devotees. Over 300 policemen and Rangers personnel have been deployed.

The ninth-century Sufi saint, who is considered the saviour of the city from natural disasters, had made Sindh his abode and was laid to rest on a then secluded hilly area facing the Arabian Sea, now part of Clifton.
