Karachi experiences power outages during Eid holidays

Even on Eid, residents of Karachi suffer with long hours of power outages and cable faults.

According to the details, on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha Korangi, Shah Faisal and Pahlawan Goth and other areas of the city witnessed power break down of more than 9 hours.

K Electric said that the power supply was suspended due to a technical fault in the grid station.

A spokesman for K-Electric said that efforts were being made to restore power by rectifying the problem but no unannounced load shedding was taking place anywhere in Karachi.

He said that despite the Eid holidays in Karachi, the demand for electricity is 3000 MW, power is being supplied continuously in areas where there is announced load shedding.

Spokesman for K Electric said that cable faults were a problem in areas without load shedding.
