Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be made a center of domestic and foreign tourists.
According to details, a meeting of the tourism department was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan in which a briefing was given on the development projects of the provincial government in the tourism sector and progress on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Regarding tourism, it was informed in the meeting that an integrated tourism management plan is being prepared for the branches of tourism in Malakand and Hazara divisions and a tourism management information system is being launched for the convenience of domestic and foreign tourists.
During the meeting, Mahmood Khan said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, steps are being taken to develop the tourism sector in the province.
It was informed in the briefing that a project costing Rs. 167 million has been approved for the promotion of recreational activities on the dams and a project of Rs. 147 million for the establishment of rest areas in tourist places of the province is underway.
It was informed in the briefing that the meeting approved the creation of 300 new posts for the establishment of Tourism Police while the meeting also approved the recruitment plan for the Culture and Tourism Authority.
In this regard, 77 employees will be recruited in the first phase, 17 in the second phase and 15 in the third phase under the plan. It was also informed that a water theme park is being set up in Swabi under public-private partnership.
