Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Monday alleged that the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party PPP does not want Sindh and Karachi to prosper.
According to the details, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar in his press conference appealed to the Supreme Court to take notice of the actions of the provincial government.
“These wadera-minded people do not want a local government system because this system makes democracy stronger,” Waseem Akhtar said.
He further said that he has been “working hard” for the last four years but the provincial government never gave him any funds.
Earlier Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) representative Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain decided to approach Sindh High Court against the provincial cabinet’s decision to creat district no 7 in Karachi.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) representative Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain while taking to his official twitter handle on Monday, announced that he will be approaching the Sindh High Court against the step taken by the provincial cabinet regarding the formation of a new district in Karachi.
Dr. Amir Liaquat Hussain also revealed that his constitutional request has the full support of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It should be noted that the creation of the seventh district in Karachi by the provincial government has provoked uproar among the political leadership.
Representatives of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), the Jamaat e Islami (JI), and the ruling Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has opposed the decision by the Sindh Cabinet to create Keamari District.
There is a great deal of suspicion expressed by the opposing parties, over the step by the PPP government, especially since it comes so soon before the next local level election.
