In its new advisory the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the ongoing downpour in Karachi would continue until 11 pm today.
The Met Office had forecast a day ago that the monsoon storm system had weakened, and the metropolis was likely to be provided with much-needed relief from the torrential rains.
The Met office edited its earlier rain forecast in its latest weather alert that heavy showers in the city could last until 4 pm, saying it will last until 11 pm now.
Although weather experts have said the rain system has evolved from the Arab Sea to the Kirther Range. They added Karachi was sandwiched in the network of rains.
The experts added that sea humidity was also improving the rain system.
Multiple parts of the city have been flooded with the continuing downpour, and the city’s main streets have been blocked by the rainwater collected on highways.
Many city travelers were trapped in the rain with Clifton and Safety in the flood as well. The seven underpasses were also closed for traffic in various areas of Karachi after they were flooded with rainwater.
On the other side, the rain water also washed away containers kept for protection purposes ahead of Ashura processions.
