Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad today, to discuss the country’s economic and political situation.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s office.

The cabinet will discuss a 14-point agenda during the meeting.

The Federal Cabinet will approve the retail price of different medicines, a decrease in the price of the injection which is administered to coronavirus patients, the appointment of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) chairman, and its oil member, terms and conditions for the appointment of an acting chairman for Pakistan Islands Development Authority, Karachi; reclassification of cantonments, amendment in Islamabad master plan for construction of model jail, classification of cantonment areas,  appointment of Islamabad environmental tribunal chairperson.

Earlier, Prime Minister had constituted a selection committee under Adviser to PM on Accountability and Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar to recommend a panel for the post of OGRA member oil.

After an extensive examination of credentials and detailed interviews, the committee recommended three candidates in order of merit for appointment against the post for a period of three years.

Sources said the selection committee had recommended the names of Zainulabideen Qureshi, Ziaul Haq Mirza, and Asim Niazi to fill the vacant slot of OGRA’s member oil.

The post of the Chairman OGRA had fallen vacant due to the expiry of tenure of the former chairperson on 17th July 2020.

Briefing on automation is also a part of the federal cabinet meeting’s agenda.
