The number of child abuse cases is increasing day by day across Pakistan but still, no concrete steps are being taken by the government in this regard.
According to the details, a report has been released by an NGO working on children’s rights which have revealed that more than 8 children are sexually abused every day in Pakistan.
According to the report, more than eight children have been raped every day during the first six months of this year across the country, while the highest number of child abuse cases has taken place in Punjab province.
The report includes data on child abuse between January and June.
According to the NGO report, 497 children were raped in Pakistan in the first six months and 227 children were raped in the first six months.
In Pakistan, 173 children were gang-raped in six months, while 331 children were abducted across the country by June this year.
In the first six months of this year, 38 children were raped and killed. According to statistics, 53% of girls and 47% of boys were raped, 57% of cases were reported in Punjab and 32% in Sindh.
6% of child abuse cases were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22 in Balochistan, 10 in Azad Kashmir and one in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the report, 62% of the cases were reported in rural areas and 38% in urban areas.
