Punjab Higher Education Department has issued a promotion policy for intermediate students.
According to the details, the Punjab Higher Education Department has decided to give marks to second-year students on the basis of their first-year results.
This means that students who fail in the first year will also get an intermediate degree with low marks.
It has also been decided to conduct examinations for the students belonging to the special category and to improve their result, the students who are preparing for the re-examination will be given marks equal to the first year.
Students with the last chance to take the Intermediate exam in the year 2020 will be passed on the basis of average marks while students who fail in 40% of the subjects of the first year will be given a degree with passing marks.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Higher Education Department, instructions have also been issued to the respective boards to conduct special examinations and as per the policy, it has been decided to award 50% marks to students as no practicals will be conducted in Science.
It should be noted that the results of intermediate examinations of all boards across the province will be announced tomorrow.
Pakistan Reopen Schools
On September 15; Schools and colleges across Pakistan reopened Tuesday ending a six-month-long closure.
The government had decided to close schools, colleges, and universities in March in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Sindh, however, had suspended educational activities in the province on February 27 after the detection of the first COVID-19 case in Karachi.
