IG Punjab Inam Ghani
After the federal government decided to replace Inspector General (IG) Punjab Shoaib Dastagir from his post, Inam Ghani in his replacement has been appointed as the new IG Punjab on Tuesday.
Shahbaz Gill, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication has confirmed the news of the change and made the announcement through Twitter.

In an informal talk with the media today, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar said that the province is run according to the rules and regulations and the system will continue to work as people goes-by.
He said,
“The priority of the new IGP should be to maintain law and order in the province.”
According to the details, the decision of replacing the IG Punjab has been taken by the federal government after differences started to emerge between the former IG Punjab and Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO).
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday has given the approval to replace Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastagir.
According to the details, the high-profile replacement has been made after the Punjab government faced an unusual situation after rifts developed between the newly appointed CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh and IGP Dastagir over action against land grabbers.
