Motorway Rape Case: Justice will be provided at all costs says Buzdar

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed determination to solve the motorway rape case as soon as possible.

In a recent statement, Sardar Usman Buzdar said the Punjab government stands by the victim and her family. The accused involved in the heinous incident do not deserve any ease.

He assured that justice will be provided at all costs, the government will go to the utmost to provide justice to the victim.

On the other hand, Information Minister Punjab Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said the Punjab Chief Minister is keeping a close watch on the Lahore Motorway abuse case.

A high-level committee headed by Law Minister Raja Basharat is investigating the case. All the institutions including Additional Chief Secretary Home, Additional IG Special Branch, Forensic Department, CIA are cooperating to solve the case.

The committee has been tasked to complete the investigation within three days and submit the recommendations to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Traditional and modern investigative methods are being used to apprehend the culprits said, Chohan.

Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Omar Sheikh on Thursday had suspended two station house officers (SHO) over using ‘delaying tactic’ in lodging the first information report (FIR) of the motorway rape incident.

Separately, while talking to media Punjab Inspector General of Police (IG) Inam Ghani had said that the police had identified the village of the suspects and claimed that they would apprehend the culprits soon.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Accountability Shehzad Akbar termed the incident as unfortunate and said that such incidents cannot be tolerated.

He said that CCPO Lahore has been directed to monitor the case and all the necessary steps have been taken in the investigation

Shehzad Akbar said that a controversy has been raised over his statement and it is the responsibility of the government to provide security to the people and make highways and areas safe.
