Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that new reforms will be enforced to improve hospital standards in Peshawar.
The Prime Minister while addressing the inaugural Ceremony of Surgical and Allied Services Block of Lady Reading Hospital at Peshawar expressed hope that government hospitals will now become role models.
He said that in the past, the quality of government hospitals was very good, however, the later regimes neglected their importance.
Imran Khan said that reforms are underway to improve hospitals in Peshawar.
While quoting the example of China, he said Beijing left the world behind on the basis of merit. Imran Khan said that no system can function without merit.
He said that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf government is working hard to improve the lives of the poor.
Earlier the Prime Minister inaugurated the newly constructed 500 bedded Medical and Allied Block in Lady Reading Hospital.
He also addressed the tribal leaders in Bajaur, where he expressed the confidence that the construction of road infrastructure in the tribal districts will promote both tourism and trade.
He said the road infrastructure will connect the tribal districts with the rest of the country.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated Nahakki Tunnel and Sheikh Zaid Road in Mohmand.
He was briefed by the officials on the development projects in Mohmand district.
