After more people recovered from the novel coronavirus in Pakistan, the active cases toll now stands at 5,795 with 6,370 deaths.

According to the latest statistics of the 29534 coronavirus tests carried out over the last twenty-four hours, 548 people tested positive.  Five people died from the virus during the last twenty-four hours.

So far 300,371 cases have been reported including 131,404 in Sindh, 97,533 in Punjab, 36,823 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 15,832 in Islamabad, 3,131 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), 13,282 in Balochistan, and 2,366 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

2,439 patients lost their lives due to COVID-19 infection in Sindh, 2,214 in Punjab, 1,256 in KP, 178 in Islamabad, 145 in Balochistan, 73 in GB, 65 in AJK.

On the other hand, Provincial Education Minister Akbar Ayub Khan has directed the officials of the education department to ensure the availability of water and washing soap in educational institutions.

In a statement in Peshawar, he said the staff of the health department will visit the schools and conduct corona tests of teachers and other staff.

The minister further said anti corona items would be purchased from PTC, sports, and medical funds.
