To mark the chehlum of Imam Hussain and other Karbala martyrs, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Tuesday announced its schedule of special flights to the holy cities of Najaf and Baghdad.
The flights have been announced to facilitate the visitors to mark the holy day of Arbaeen, the chehlum.
“People will now be able to travel to Najaf and Baghdad from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, and the schedule has been finalized. The airline will operate flights from September 27 till October 5,” a spokesperson for the national carrier said.
He added that the national airline introduced special reduced fares for the Arbaeen pilgrims.
The CEO of PIA, retired Air Marshal Arshad Malik, while sharing his views on the finalization of the flight schedule, said the airline feels privileged to serve the pilgrims for the holy day.
Malik said he had held meetings with Iraq’s ambassador to Pakistan to discuss the possibility of special flights to Iraq.
Moreover, he instructed the PIA officials to provide the best possible services to passengers traveling from the national airline to mark the holy day.
