Dozens of People have protested outside former Prime Minister and Supreme Leader of PML-N Nawaz Sharif’s Avenfield apartment in London.
Outside the Avenfield apartments, protesters held placards with “Go Nawaz Go” slogans, but the people dispersed shortly after.
According to sources in the Sharif family, the incident has been reported to the police.
Police said the demonstrators were not allowed to ask for permission to protest and the gathering of more than 6 people due to Coronavirus.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) UK has announced its disassociation from the protest.
It may be recalled that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been residing in London since November 2019 where he is undergoing treatment.
Earlier this week, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif refused to receive arrest High Commission on Monday.
Foreign Office sent arrest warrants to Pakistan’s High Commission in London on September 17 and directed the commission to submit a report on arrest warrants.
The IHC earlier this week had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Nawaz Sharif while dismissing his application seeking exemption from personal appearance in the hearing of appeals against his conviction in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield properties references.
The former prime minister has been in the United Kingdom since November 2019, after getting bail from the court on medical grounds and securing permission from the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.
His doctors said he is suffering from complicated cardiac disease and an immune system disorder that resulted in a dangerously low platelet count.
According to the report submitted in Lahore High Court, the doctor has advised Nawaz Sharif to stay in London for the best treatment and continue medical therapy.
