Shehbaz Sharif Arrested For Standing With Nawaz Sharif: Maryam Nawaz

Maryam Nawaz, PML-N Central Vice President and daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, termed the arrest of Shehbaz Sharif as a sad day and said that the only reason for arresting Shehbaz Sharif was that he stood with his brother Nawaz Sharif.

In a press conference in Lahore, she said that for the first time the Leader of the Opposition was re-arrested.

Maryam Nawaz said that Shehbaz Sharif has been punished for his loyalty to his elder brother, Hamza Shehbaz has not been proved guilty yet he is still in jail.

She said that Shehbaz Sharif had said that the APC declaration will be implemented 100%. This is the first time such a crackdown has taken place on the opposition. The government is innocent even after committing every sin.

The PML-N vice-president said that Shehbaz Sharif was not arrested on any corruption charge. He belonged to a business family which has been doing business since 1930. The judiciary also said that NAB is a political engineering institute.

Maryam Nawaz said that when Nawaz Sharif’s decision comes, Shehbaz Sharif acknowledges, there is no doubt and Shehbaz Sharif is our President and will remain so.

Maryam Nawaz said that if there is any law and justice in Pakistan then the arrest should have been of Asim Saleem Bajwa and not of Shehbaz Sharif because 99 companies, hundreds of franchisees did not come out in the name of Shehbaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif belongs to a business family, his father was a well-known businessman while Asim Bajwa was a salaried employee.

She said that nothing has been proved against Shehbaz Sharif but those against whom evidence has come to light are not visible to anyone.  They arrest Shehbaz Sharif and sent notices to Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Did someone dare to send a notice to Asim Saleem Bajwa? She asked.

Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan is afraid that Shehbaz Sharif is his replacement and if he gives place to Shahbaz Sharif, he will replace him.
