Pillion riding has been banned across Sindh including Karachi, on the occasion of Imam Hussain (RA) Chehlum.

According to the details, Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) will be observed on Thursday, October 8. For safety purposes, the Sindh government has decided to ban pillion riding across the province.

However, only law enforcement officials, including senior citizens, journalists and police will be exempt from the ban.

The Sindh Home Department has issued the notification of the ban.

Earlier, in order to avoid peace violations during Ashura days, the district administration had banned pillion riding of a motorcycle in Islamabad.

According to the details, the Pillion riding of the motorcycle was banned in the federal capital from 8 to 10 Muharram. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad had issued a notification banning pillion riding.
