Sindh government has decided to impose smart lockdown amid the alarming increase in coronavirus cases in Karachi.

According to details, due to the escalation in coronavirus cases, it has been decided to impose smart lockdown in the city.

Deputy Commissioner West has confirmed the imposition of Smart Lockdown. The lockdown will be implemented tonight from 12 noon to 7 pm on October 15.

According to the notification, after confirmation of coronavirus in 22 persons from the same UC in the west district, it was decided to impose micro-smart lockdown in Manghopir UC-8 and Gadap.

Cases have been reported from Samama Villas and Saima City in UC-8 on Monday. Unauthorized persons have been banned from entering UC-8 on Monday. Masks must be worn when entering and leaving the area.

The notification said that all business activities in the area would be suspended and only a ration shop and medical store would be allowed to open.

All transport and double riding will be banned in the Smart Lockdown area. Any kind of public gathering will also be banned.

The notification further said that only one person will be allowed to come out of the house to buy essential items.
