ISLAMABAD: Saudi Deputy Minister for Labor, Abdullah bin Nasir Abu Al-Sani has promised Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistan Zulfi Bukhari to raise the issue of flights and visa at the weekly joint ministerial meeting.
According to details, Zulfi Bukhari contacted the Saudi Deputy Minister for Human Resources via video link regarding difficulties in getting tickets to passengers going to Saudi Arabia, unavailability of seats due to limited flights and increase in fares.
Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistan Zulfi Bukhari requested the Saudi Deputy Minister to extend the visa deadline to October 30, 2020, and allow the airlines to operate more flights.
Zulfi Bukhari said that due to non-availability of flights, fares have gone up, there is a lot of pressure from workers who want to go back to Saudi Arabia, but due to non-availability of flights, workers are stuck, so Saudi air carriers and Let PIA increase flights.
Zulfi Bukhari requested that the stay be extended by at least one month, to which Saudi Deputy Minister Abdullah bin Nasir promised to raise the issue of flights and stays at a ministerial meeting.
He said that the Ministry of Commerce, Home Affairs and Human Resources would take up the issue in the meeting. As 25 per cent of seats were left vacant, there was a burden on flights.
The Saudi deputy minister said he would review the record and decide to extend the stay, and next month would announce a major piece of good news about the amendment to Labor Law.
