The Balochistan government announced to broaden the Quetta-Karachi highway along with other inter-city highways into two-way roads in order to decrease the number of casualties and make it tranquil for the civilians to commute.
Motorway authorities state that automobilists should not use their cellular devices while driving and follow the given rules such as not violating one-way traffic.
The Balochistan Government Spokesperson, Liaquat Shahwani, said, “We have written a letter to the NHA for the posting of motorway police officials on national highways to reduce road accidents.”
Every year the N-25 National Highway, connecting Quetta to Karachi, witnesses 6,000 deaths and several accidents. 1,207 accidents and 128 casualties were reported in just September. Residents of the vicinity protest that despite of thousands of people dying the government is not doing their work efficiently.
