BBSYDP : A commendable project of Sindh government

There is no doubt in the fact that the utilization of young minds in the best interest of Pakistan. Young minds have energy, passion, and acceptance for new innovative ideas, dreams and hope. Although Pakistan currently faces a number of challenges such as poverty, electricity crisis, and a lot more, however, the youth that is considered as nation builders, if utilized to the best of their capacity can turn the future of any country. In this regard, The Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP) is one of the finest examples we can quote.

The Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP) is a Government of Sindh training program for young unemployed people.

It is a Government of Sindh initiative that aims to provide opportunities for skill development to approximately 100,000 semi-literate and educated unemployed youth in Sindh for a period varying between 3 months to one year.

The unemployed youth will be offered various skill development opportunities and job oriented certification courses to adapt to local and international job markets.

This will help contain poverty and improve the socio-economic conditions of common citizens. In addition, the public and private sector business efficiency will increase through a well-placed, developed and skilled workforce.

BBSYDP focuses on developing human resources in Sindh province by empowering youth (aged between 18-35 years) with employable skill sets. It was initiated in 2008-09 by the government of Sindh.

A major chunk of the youth in Sindh is unable to get itself employed just because they do not have the competent skills to compete in the job market. The BBSYDP is a skills development program to produce skillful youth and promote employment generation.

It should be noted here that according to Payoneer’s Global Gig Economy Index, Pakistan has ranked on the top slot of fastest-growing freelance markets in Asia, beating both India and Bangladesh in the 7th and 8th positions, respectively.

Pakistan has outranked the entire Asian continent as it becomes the fastest-growing freelance market in Asia, shortly behind the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil, making it the 4th in the list of fastest-growing freelance markets globally, with an exceptional growth rate of 47 percent year on year.
