On Monday, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCCA) has issued a new standard operating procedure (SOPs) for domestic flights to control the risk of spreading the novel coronavirus among the passengers and the crew.

According to the PCCA spokesperson, the new SOPs will come into effect from 6th October and will continue to force till the 31st of December.

Everyone at the airport has to wear a mask, especially while entering the passenger terminal building. The spokesperson said, only those passengers will be allowed to enter the airport loungers who will be wearing face masks.

The PCCA spokesperson maintained that only airport staff and passengers will be permitted to go beyond the parking area.

As per the SOPs, it will be the responsibility of the manager to ensure social distancing at the boarding bridge and departure lounge.

CAA has made it mandatory to disinfect the aircraft before passenger boarding according to the procedures prescribed by the board.

The spokesperson told that every passenger will be provided hand sanitizers after each other and the airlines will ensure the personal protective equipment’s availability in the places.
