Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that our government has given top priority to the development of Balochistan.

According to details, a high-level meeting on development projects for the underdeveloped areas of South Balochistan was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The meeting was briefed on the proposed development package for the underprivileged districts of South Balochistan, Khuzdar, Awaran, Chaghi, Kharan, Washik, Lasbela, Gwadar, Panjgur and Turbat. A detailed briefing was also given on roads, dams, education, health, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, energy and water storage and other projects for South Balochistan.

Presiding over the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that South Balochistan had been neglected in the past while the people of Balochistan were facing poverty and backwardness.

The Prime Minister also said that Gwadar port is of special importance and wanted the region to develop like the rest of the country.

Imran Khan said that he would visit South Balochistan soon while Gwadar would prove to be an important milestone for the development of the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that he would announce a comprehensive development package for the people of South Balochistan while also inaugurating the projects included in this package.

The meeting was also attended by Army Chief and DG ISI while Murad Saeed, Shafqat Mahmood, Zubeida Jalal, Hamad Azhar and Aminul Haq, Ali Haider Zaidi, Fakhr Imam, Asad Umar, Umar Ayub Khan, Faisal Vawda, Abdul Razzaq Daud, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Sania Nishtar, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Muhammad Wasim Ashraf, Tabish Gohar, Nadeem Babar, Yar Muhammad Rind, secretaries of relevant ministries and other senior government officials also attended.
