Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has called Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) President an ‘extremist Mullah’.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Sad Day for Pakistan An extremist Mullah considered Close to terrorist groups of Afghanistan is selected to lead opposition movement against Government, unlike India where extremists are in Govt people of Pak never allowed extremists to lead or mainstream politics.”

Note that opposition parties united to overthrow the government and elected Maulana Fazlur Rehman as head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
The decision to make Maulana Fazlur Rehman the head was taken at a virtual meeting of PDM leaders attended by Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto and other opposition leaders.
The decision on other PDM officials will be taken at a steering committee meeting on Monday.
According to sources, Maulana’s name was suggested by Nawaz Sharif, PPP vehemently opposed it, Bilawal said that the term of Maulana’s leadership should also be fixed and the leadership of the alliance should be given to all parties in turn.
The PDM leaders also decided to sign the Charter of Pakistan, which was proposed by Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), comprising 11 opposition parties, has appointed Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, as its leader.
A virtual meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement was held in which Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Ahsan Iqbal, Nawab Akhtar Mengal, Shah Owais Noorani, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and others participated.
The meeting also finalized the organizational structure of the PDM and discussed the strategy and implementation of the joint anti-government protest movement.
