The authorities in Karachi have sealed 61 restaurants and bakeries for violating health protocols devised to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to the details, the district administration said that four marriage halls have been sealed and three others have been issued warnings for violating SOPs.

The management of the restaurants, halls, and bakeries was found to commit severe violations of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operating the business during the Covid-19 pandemic. The authorities took action in the areas of Bahadurabad, Malir, Korangi, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulzar Hijri, and Jamshed Quarters.

Sindh government on Wednesday imposed a “micro smart lockdown” in several neighborhoods of Karachi to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.

The district West areas that have been put under micro smart lockdown include Manghopir Union Council 8 and Gadap Town. The decision was taken after more than 20 cases were reported from Manghopir Union Council.
