Mobile phone service is likely to be suspended due to security concerns at the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) meeting in Quetta tomorrow.
According to the details, sources said that consideration has been given to shut the mobile phone service in Quetta tomorrow.
Sources said that the mobile phone service may be shut down from 8 am to 9 pm. Earlier, pillion riding was also banned in Quetta for 24 hours.
The pillion riding ban will apply tonight from 12 noon for the next 24 hours. The Balochistan Home Department will soon issue a notification.
It should be noted that Pakistan Democratic Movement will hold an anti-government rally in Quetta tomorrow. Bilawal Bhutto, Maryam Nawaz and Maulana Fazlur Rehman will address the rally.
Earlier, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Balochistan Capt (retd) Fazil Asghar in which the security of the opposition meeting and the overall law and order situation in the province was reviewed.
The Chief Secretary also directed to implement Section 144 in the capital in view of any possible threat under which free movement of arms and pillion riding would be banned.
