More than 150 restaurants, 9 wedding halls, 4 educational institutions, and 16 shops were sealed in Karachi found violating COVID-19 health protocols.
According to the details, Hotels, restaurants, wedding halls, and educational institutions were raided in different parts of the city on the instructions of Commissioner Karachi.
158 restaurants, 9 wedding halls, 4 educational institutions, and 16 shops were sealed across the city.
Seven Marriage Halls and 20 restaurants were sealed in K0rangi District.
Two marriage halls, 37 restaurants, and 4 shops were sealed in District Central.
In the District South, 36 restaurants, 4 educational institutions, and 6 shops were sealed.
In District East, 6 shops and 29 restaurants were sealed. Whereas 7 restaurants were sealed in District West.
In Malir district, 29 restaurants were sealed.
Action has also been taken against the public transport buses found violating the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Reportedly 165 buses, mini-buses, and coaches were seized from across the city. Challans were also issued for 446 buses, coaches, and mini-buses.
Earlier, the Sindh government had imposed a mini smart lockdown in district south. The Creek Vista Apartments and Askari III areas in Karachi were placed under lockdown after seven active cases in each area were reported.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), as many as 35,071 samples were tested during this period, out of which 553 turned out to be positive.
The number of Covid-19 cases across the country has reached 313,984 with the addition of the new cases.
There are 8,884 active Coronavirus cases as 298,593 patients have recuperated from the infection.
More than 3.6 million tests have been conducted in the country. 511 of the patients under treatment at various hospitals across the country are said to be in critical condition.
So far, Sindh has reported 137,783 cases of the coronavirus, Punjab 99,665, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 37,908, Balochistan 15,323, Islamabad 16,713, Gilgit Baltistan 3,816, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2,776.
