PDM Gujranwala Jalsa: Rampant Violations of Coronavirus SOPs Seen In Venue

The Opposition Alliance of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) violated the agreement reached with the administration at its first gathering in Gujranwala.

According to details, PML-N had applied to the district administration for today’s Jalsa at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala, on which the administration had agreed to strict conditions and agreement and allowed the PDM to hold the meeting.

A copy of the agreement states that prior to the meeting, the PDMA had assured the implementation of the Coronavirus SOPs, while it was decided that no worker would attend the Jalsa without a mask.

The workers attended the gathering without masks and no central leader or official of any party stopped their workers from violating the code of conduct.

According to the agreement, the organizers of the meeting would be obliged to give a gate percentage to the participants coming and going in the stadium, while a distance of 6 feet would be kept between the participants in the venue, but no such arrangement was made.

Apart from this, the provision of direct access of the participants to the venue was also included in the undertaking, but the undertaking was violated by the PML-N, JUI-F and the PPP. Reception camps were set up at various places. Maryam Nawaz addressed the reception camp in Shahdra, while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also addressed the workers and people on the way to Gujranwala.

Bilawal Bhutto himself addressed the workers without face masks besides this Maryam Aurangzeb, Uzma Bukhari, Rana Sanaullah, Ata Tarar, Maulana Amjad also appeared in the venue without facemasks.
