The Pakistan Democratic Movement PDM Karachi Jalsa will be staged at Bagh-e-Jinnah in the metropolis today, to put pressure on the Imran Khan’s government.
According to the details, after Gujranwala, the anti-government coalition eyes for the second show against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.
Following the PDM Jalsa, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz has left for Karachi from Lahore.
The central leadership of PDM will be addressing the rally. This includes Jameet e Ulema Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Pakistan Peoples Party PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Muslim League PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, former prime minister, and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and others.
PPP’s Karachi leader Najmi Alam said that arrangements had been made to ensure 50,000 seats were present inside the venue for participants. Seats have also been placed at a distance from each other to ensure social distancing. However the PPP claims 100,000 people will attend the rally.
As per the details, three stages have been set up for the political power show:
Each stage is 160 feet long, 20 feet high, and 50 feet wide.
The Jalsa will be started at 4:30 pm.
During the gathering, the government has directed to implement coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) in order to curb the spread of the virus. All coronavirus SOPs will be strictly implemented throughout the gathering. Attendees will not enter the venue without masks and sanitizers. The organizers will also have to install walk-through gates and sanitizers at the entrance and exit gates of the venue. Cars will be allowed to be parked at a distance from the venue of the gathering. The temperature of the participants will be checked at the walkthrough gates. The PDM will arrange lighting at the venue and ensure there is no display of weaponry or fireworks at the venue.
To ensures the security of the PDM leadership, barbed wire has been placed around the main stage where the anti-coalition party leaders will sit. Moreover, 4,000 policemen have been deputed for the security of the rally.
