Condemnations from top political figures poured in over Peshawar Blast in which at least seven people killed and more than 80 injured.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi

Condemning the blast, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said innocent students of a madrassa were targeted today. “Heartbroken over the deaths and injury of several children as a result of the blast.”

He added that the whole nation stands side by side with its armed forces and law enforcement agencies in this war on terror. “Will eradicate the monster of terrorism.” Expressing condolences to the bereaved family members, the foreign minister prayed for the forgiveness of those martyred in the blast and for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Bilawal Bhutto

Chairperson PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, currently in Gilgit-Baltistan for the upcoming polls, said those who target innocent civilians have no religion while condemning the explosion in the seminary.  Bilawal also said that terrorists can not break the will of the people of Pakistan through their cowardly attacks and expressed concern at the increasing incidents of terrorism in the country.

Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz also strongly condemned the blast and said: “Those behind the attack on students have nothing to do with humanity. The sordid designs of those trying to stoke instability in the country will be foiled.” Shibli Faraz also prayed for the recovery of the injured.

Mahmood Khan

Expressing grief at the loss of precious lives in the blast, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan strongly condemned the incident. Ordering the police to launch an inquiry immediately, the CM said that those responsible will not be able to escape the law.

Kamran Bangash

Special Assistant to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister on Information Kamran Bangash said the blast is a failed attempt to sabotage peace in the country.

“Those who spread terror will never succeed in their mission,” he added.

The CM further ordered rescue services and hospitals to provide immediate emergency care to those injured.

Maryam Nawaz

PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, while terming the Peshawar blast a “heartbreaking incident”, condoled with the victims and their families.
