Former Prime Minister of Afghanistan Gulbuddin Hekmatyar along with a delegation is arriving in the federal capital Islamabad today on a three-day visit to Pakistan. He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to the details, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, during his visit; Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will call on the Prime Minister and the President and will meet the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, and also with the other dignitaries.

In addition to this, He will deliver a talk at a policy think-tank and interact with the media.

The visit of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will provide an opportunity for the exchange of views on the Afghan peace process and strengthening of Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral relations as well as people-to-people interaction.

Pakistan has consistently supported an inclusive, broad-based, and comprehensive political settlement through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

The visit of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will further strengthen bilateral ties and people-to-people linkages between the two brotherly countries and help advance efforts for peace and stability.

“Pakistan attaches high importance to its fraternal ties with Afghanistan, rooted deep in shared history, faith, culture, values, and traditions. Pakistan fully supports all efforts for peace, stability and prosperity of the Afghan people,”  said the statement by the Foreign Office in this regard.

The Foreign Office said that Pakistan has consistently supported an inclusive, broad-based, and comprehensive political settlement through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

The visit will further strengthen bilateral ties and people-to-people linkages between Pakistan and Afghanistan and help advance efforts for peace and stability.

Earlier Dr Abdullah Abdullah, the Afghan Chief Executive during his visit to Islamabad,  expressed his gratitude to Pakistani leadership over its role in the Afghan peace process.
