The federal cabinet has postponed the decision to increase electricity and gas rates.
According to details, the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the decisions of the Economic Co-ordination Committee on September 30 but did not accept the hike in electricity and gas prices.
The Economic Co-ordination Committee had approved the price hike but the decision to increase the price was postponed on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a meeting chaired by Finance Adviser Abdul Hafeet Sheikh on September 30, the ECC had approved Rs 19.65 billion for the golden handshake of Steel Mills employees.
The meeting also approved Rs 11.6 billion for payment of dues to non-petitioners employees and it was informed that 3978 retired employees of Steel Mills are non-petitioners.
The ECC reduced the commission margin on sugar wheat imports from 2% to 0.75% while 126 posts were approved for the management of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.
