Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the Panahgahs in Peshawar Mor in Islamabad and ate food being provided to People at the shelter homes.
Prime Minister Imran Khan reviewed the facilities available in the Panahgahs and directed to take care of the needs of the deserving persons staying there.
The Prime Minister directed that the best and standard facilities be provided in the shelter homes.
It may be recalled that last week, Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the concerned authorities to ensure the service of the laborers and helpless people staying in the shelter homes and provide the best facilities.
The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister and was attended by Special Assistant Sania Nishtar, MD Bait-ul-Mal Aun Abbas and other senior officials. Special Assistant Dr. Sania Nishtar gave a detailed briefing to the meeting.
Sania Nishtar had told the meeting that the data of the people staying in the shelters is compiled on a daily basis. The purpose is to use the data to improve the service. The data is also shared with philanthropists and other donors who support the government’s efforts in charity.
MD Bait-ul-Mal presented a roadmap to the Prime Minister on expanding the network of shelters. The Prime Minister had also approved in principle amendments to the Treasury Act.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that it was the responsibility of the state to meet the needs of the helpless and weak. The government will make every effort. The quality of the facilities provided in the shelters should not be compromised in any way.
Earlier the Prime Minister had also said that the range of model shelter homes would be gradually extended to other provinces.
