Lahore Accountability Court while accepting an exemption plea from personal appearance in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case, adjourned the hearing till October 20.
According to the details, the accountability court judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry heard the Ramzan Sugar Mills’ case. During the proceedings counsel of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Shehbaz Sharif’s son, Hamza Shehbaz, submitted his exemption plea.
The judge summoned witnesses in the case in the next hearing. The court also approved permanent exemption from the personal appearance of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in the case.
Let it be known that Hamza Shehbaz Sharif had tested positive for the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
Party leader Atta Tarar confirmed on September 13.
The NAB has filed a reference accusing former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, his son Hamza Shehbaz and others for misusing authority by sanctioning the construction of a bridge to facilitate the sugar mills.
Shehbaz and Hamza have been accused of fraudulently causing a Rs 213 million loss to the national exchequer.
