Security in the Islamabad Capital Territory, Sindh and Punjab has been placed on high alert following the blast at a madrassa in Peshawar’s Dir Colony.

According to the details, the security of other important government and non-government buildings including the red zone of Islamabad has also been tightened.

IG Punjab Inam Ghani has also issued an order to raise security high alert across the province after the Peshawar blast in which at least eight died and 95 others injured.

All Punjab police officers have been directed to increase security at sensitive places and public places including places of worship.

Punjab has directed other officers including DPOs to go out in the field and review the security arrangements at sensitive places and make the checking process at inter-provincial and inter-district check posts more effective.

The IG Punjab has directed that search, sweep and intelligence-based operations be intensified in all districts.

IG Sindh has issued orders to the police to remain alert in Sindh including Karachi. IG Sindh has issued instructions to the police to tighten the security arrangements at the provincial level.

The instructions issued further said that SPs, DSPs, SHOs while ensuring their presence, should make the security at mosques, Imambargahs and other public and important places exceptional.
