Shehbaz Sharif complains about NAB’s inhumane & humiliating behavior

On Monday, Shehbaz Sharif, National Assembly’s Opposition leader, and the PML-N President has complained that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials treated him in an “inhumane and humiliating” way while he was imprisoned in jail.

Shehbaz said while giving his statement to the accountability court that he was properly aware of the reason being imprisoned, but it was his basic right to get medical treatment for his backache, PML-N President has been suffering for 25 years.

He further told the court that he used to ask for help to change the position of his chair for prayers, but he was refused to give any assistance on October 1 and 2 when he sought help from jail officials.

Shehbaz also alleged that his food was being placed on the floor instead of being served at the table. The PML-N leader said,

“This is being deliberately so that I have to bend to pick it up. It is happening at the behest of Imran Khan and Shehzad Akbar.”

If anything happened to his health, the Opposition leader warned that he would lodge an FIR against Prime Minister Imran Khan and Shehzad Akbar.

The presiding judge said while responding to Shahbaz’s complaint that the court will not any sort of inhumane treatment during the detention.

The presiding judge further said that he would not tolerate any humiliation of prisoners in jail.

“I will take notice if there are any complaints in the future,” he added.

The NAB prosecutor said that Shahbaz Sharif had not been kept in a jail cell instead he had been kept in a special room and the PML-N President only ate the food from his home.

Restraining the lawyers from speaking, the judge said,

“I have more experience in politics than you. I will pass a full order on this today. It is not at all acceptable that a prisoner is served food on the ground.”
