The Nanbais across the Balochistan province went on an indefinite strike Thursday to seek to fix the roti price at Rs 30.
According to the details, the Nanbais are of the view that the roti weighing 320 grams should be priced at Rs 30 due to an increase in rates of wheat flour.
Besides, the association also said they are forced to use gas cylinders due to the non-availability of natural gas.
The association said that strike would continue until a new rate list is issued.
In July this year, a nationwide crackdown was launched against elements involved in wheat hoarding.
An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on the availability of wheat and flour in which it was decided to crack down on the elements involved in wheat storage across the country.
Let it be known that earlier, on October 2, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had approved the import of 180,000 metric tons of wheat from Russia on a GTG basis waiving off all taxes/levies duties on wheat import.
