Senior journalist Arshad Waheed Chaudhary has Succumbed to Coronavirus, he was under treatment at a hospital in Islamabad for past few days.
Note that the deadly Novel Coronavirus, which has rocked developed countries around the world, and now Pakistan is facing the second wave of the virus, with more than 2,000 cases reported in the country in 24 hours for the second day in a row since July.
The total number of people infected with the virus in the country has reached 354,461, of which 322,414 have recovered, which is 91%, while the death toll has reached 7,109.
According to official figures, 2,165 cases of coronavirus and 17 deaths have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, while 851 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of active cases to 24,938.
It is pertinent to mention here that the first case of this global pandemic in the country was reported on February 26, 2020, after which the spread of the virus was accelerated till June.
However, the situation began to improve in July and continued until early September.
Since then, the number of cases has started increasing again from mid-September and accelerated further in October, a trend which is also seen in November and the rate of positive cases in the country has crossed 5%.
