Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said protecting the health of people is the government’s priority.

In a tweet on Friday, he said coronavirus is an international phenomenon and not a product of any mind.

He said the opposition parties should demonstrate responsibility. He said the opposition leaders and organizers of the public gatherings will be responsible if the people lost their lives due to the pandemic.

Earlier Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani held Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) responsible for the COVID-19 spread in the province.

On the other hand. The government of Punjab has banned all public gatherings and indoor weddings.

A notification has also been issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department in this regard. According to the notification, all types of large-scale gatherings have been banned.

The ban will come into effect from November 20 and will last till January 31, 2021.

In the past 24 hours, 36 more people fell prey to the disease, taking the fatality toll to 7,561. As many as 868 patients have recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours.

According to NCOC with fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 368,665, whereas, the active cases stood at 33,562.
