Chairman Pak Sarzameen Party Mustafa Kamal has been indicted for abusing his authority as the mayor of Karachi in 2005.
As per the details, the Karachi Accountability Court has indicted the former mayor for allotting 98 plots to favor DG Builders in Sea View.
Kamal has been accused of allowing a private construction company to build a multi-storey building on the plots he allotted illegally. The land covers an area of 5,500 acres near Sea View.
NAB says that the land was leased out to hawkers and shopkeepers in 1980, then leased out to a private firm, DG Builders. This caused a loss of over Rs2.5 billion to the national exchequer.
The Court has summoned witnesses for the next hearing after the accused pleaded not guilty.
On the other hand, officials including Fazal-ur-Rehman, Mumtaz Haider, and Nazeer Zardari, former SBCA DG Iftikhar Qaimkhani, Muhammad Yaqoob, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Rafiq, and Nazeer Zardari have also been indicted.
