COVID-19: NCOC orders immediate closure of cinemas, theaters, and shrines

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has ordered the immediate closure of cinemas, theaters, and shrines in wake of the second wave of coronavirus in Pakistan.

According to the details, The NCOC has also ordered the immediate closure of shrines, whereas Dine-in and Take-away in Restaurants will be allowed till 10 pm. The meeting of the National Command and Operations Center also recommended banning public gatherings.

Special Health Assistant Dr. Faisal Sultan participated in the meeting. Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and Health Secretary Amir Khawaja also attended the session. The meeting reviewed the rising rate of coronavirus cases in 16 cities. The meeting also reviewed corona cases in educational institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar said that an increase in Corona cases calls for immediate action.

Coronavirus in Pakistan

Let it be known that a total of 1,708 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed during the last 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 348,184.

With 21 more deaths reported overnight, the national death tally from the disease has surged to 7,021, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

So far, a total of 320,065 people have recovered from the infection while the number of active cases stands at 21,098.

At least 31,989 samples tested during the past 24 hours, the number of tests so far conducted across the country has reached 47,73,496.
