During the second wave of coronavirus, the federal government will take an important decision today (Monday) regarding the educational institutions.
According to the details, the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood will chair a session of education ministers today of all provinces, AJ&K, and Gilgit-Baltistan to make decisions about the constitution of academic sessions. The provincial education minister will attend the session via video link.
In the session, the situation of COVID-19 situation across the country will be reviewed and a decision will be made regarding the winter vacations in all educational institutions. Furthermore, the decision for the commencement of the new year from April 2021 to August 2021; as well as board examination of the eighth class will also be made in the session.
The suggestion for the closure of educational institutions from November 24 to January 31 is also under consideration, whereas, another recommendation to close primary schools from November 24 was also made.
Consultations for closing middle schools from December 2 and extending the current academic session till May 31 next year will also be discussed by the education ministers.
Moreover, the decision of board examinations 2021 for matriculation and intermediate students will also be made in the session today.
After all the decisions Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood will make an important announcement at a press conference during the educational institutions.
