Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts first rain, snowfall of winter

The Meteorological Department has forecast the first rain of the winter in the upper parts of the country and snowfall in the mountainous regions including some districts of Balochistan from Saturday.

The Meteorological Department said that a series of westerly winds will enter the upper parts of the country on Friday. The showers will remain in the upper parts of the country by Monday. Rain and snowfall are expected in Chitral and Malakand from Sunday to Sunday.

Similarly, rain and snowfall are expected in Buner, Kohistan, and Mansehra from Friday to Sunday, while rain is expected in Abbottabad, Haripur, Charsadda, Mardan, and Peshawar from Friday to Sunday.

The meteorological department added that rain and snowfall are expected in Kohat, Waziristan, Kurram Agency, and Kashmir.

Similarly, light rain is expected in Bhakkar, Layyah, Bannu, and DI Khan from Friday to Saturday. PMD further said that showers with strong winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal from Saturday.

Rain is also expected in Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, and Faisalabad from Saturday to Monday.

According to Meteorological Department, rain is also expected in Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore from Saturday to Monday.

The Balochistan Meteorological Department has also forecast snowfall in different parts of the province and said that rain and snowfall are likely in Quetta, Zhob, and Ziarat from Friday to Saturday.

Rain and light snow is forecast in Qala-e-Abdullah from Friday to Saturday.

The first snowfall of the winter is expected in Murree and Galyat mountains on Saturday and Sunday, the Meteorological Department said.
