On Monday, the Punjab government has decided to impose a micro lockdown in 15 areas of Lahore.
According to the details, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Anti-Corona was held on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar in which important decisions were taken for security measures including protection of the people from the second wave of coronavirus in the country.
The committee expressed concern over the increase in the number of COVID-19 patients and decided to impose micro-lockdown in the areas with corona cases.
It was informed in the meeting that the lockdown was imposed due to the increasing number of corona cases.
According to sources, lockdown is being imposed in Muslim Town C Block, Allama Iqbal Town Raza Block, Sikandar Block, and Umar Block while lockdown will be imposed in Cavalry Ground, Defense Phase One, and Phase VI two blocks.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that citizens are not taking precautions despite the second wave of the coronavirus, precautionary measures for health and life should not be missed, the corona is increasing and the death rate is also increasing.
Usman Bazdar further said that if precautionary measures are not taken then more tough decisions will have to be taken. He appealed to the people to show caution and responsibility.
